Updates

TLDR: We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve added support for three new blockchain networks: Avalanche, Optimism, and Arbitrum. Starting today you can pay bills with crypto or off-ramp crypto directly from your wallet on six (and counting) blockchain networks using the Spritz app!

Big news! We’ve added multi-chain support for three new networks on the Spritz app. Now you can pay bills with crypto or off-ramp crypto directly from your wallet on Avalanche, Optimism, and Arbitrum as well as Ethereum, Polygon, and BNB Chain, which we launched earlier this year. Our team has been hard at work adding new blockchain networks to Spritz, and we’re currently looking into which networks to add next as we expand the platform even further.

We’ve loved hearing your feedback during the beta process, and we’ve learned so much about the Web3 ecosystem from all of you. Our decision to add these three networks came from the feedback and suggestions you’ve given us, and from our research on which networks might enjoy a product like Spritz the most.

A little about Avalanche, Optimism, and Arbitrum:

Avalanche is one of the most popular layer-1 blockchains in the Web3 ecosystem today, thanks to its large user base in the Web3 gaming space and across a wide range of industries that are onboarding into blockchain right now. Companies like Deloitte are building on Avalanche, and new projects like Lemonade—a crypto climate coalition—are offering new use cases for decentralized blockchains in ways that will benefit the Earth. Sounds refreshing, right?

The Avalanche gaming ecosystem is one of the largest in the play-to-earn gaming space, and popular projects like Pizza Game and Snail Trail offer new ways to earn from gaming. Decentralized exchanges like Trader Joe as well as GMX offer fast and trustless swaps and exchanges straight from your wallet, and popular crypto lending platforms like Aave even have a presence on the Avalanche blockchain.

We love a good party, so the large and diverse ecosystem on Avalanche made it an easy decision when we were looking for which blockchain network to add to Spritz next. You can use Spritz to pay bills with crypto or off-ramp directly from your decentralized wallet into your bank account using any token or stablecoin on the Avalanche network. That means assets like $AVAX, $JOE, and even $PIZZA (which pairs well with a Spritz) can be used to pay bills in the real world directly from your wallet—no swaps and exchanges needed.

Optimism and Arbitrum were easy choices, too. We first launched on Polygon almost exactly one year ago today, and even back then we knew that adding support for other Ethereum layer-2 projects would expand our use-case and enable our users to get more from the Spritz product. We created Spritz with the idea that DeFi should be even easier to use than the TradFi ecosystem, and a diverse and robust smart contract was part of that idea from the start.

Both Optimism and Arbitrum are layer-2 scaling solutions for the Ethereum network, meaning they allow Ethereum users to enjoy faster transaction speeds and lower gas fees with the added security of Ethereum’s widely decentralized blockchain network.

Today you can use Optimistic ETH or any other token on the Optimism (including OP) or Arbitrum One networks to pay bills in the real world, or you can off-ramp it to your bank account directly from your wallet in just one business day!

How to use Spritz to pay bills with crypto

New to Spritz? You can start by signing up for beta access right here. Once you sign up, you can create your account and start adding your bills and bank account to use the Spritz Bill-pay and Off-ramp products. Don’t worry, this doesn’t actually give us access to your bank account, and it doesn’t give your bank or billing providers access to your crypto wallet either. If you’re curious, you can learn a little more about how Spritz works here.

Once you’ve connected your bills or bank account and your preferred crypto wallet (MetaMask and Coinbase Wallet are popular!), you can set up a bill payment or an off-ramp in seconds. Here’s how in four easy steps:

  1. Pick the bill you want to pay, or the bank account you want to off-ramp to in either the Bill-pay or Off-ramp sections of the Spritz app.
  2. Pick the network you want to pay from, then set the dollar amount you want to send.
  3. Choose the asset you want to pay with.
  4. Confirm the transaction in your wallet. Now you’re done, cheers!

Our biggest goal with Spritz is to create a DeFi product that is safe and easy to use. We’d love to hear about your first experience with Spritz using the Avalanche, Optimism, or Arbitrum chains in our Discord channel. Let us know of any feedback or ideas you might have, and how you’ve been able to enjoy DeFi with Spritz!

You can enjoy a test payment incentive on your first bill-payment, too! We’re matching all test payments up to $10. That means that if you send a $10 payment for your first time, we’ll double it and send $20 total to your billing account (that’s like, a whole round of happy hour on us!). Sign up for the Spritz beta today.

Cheers!
